I’m an Industrial Designer specializing in bicycle design and circular innovation.
I combine strong conceptual thinking with hands on implementation.
I love to dedicate my creativity and perseverance to help bring great ideas to life, together with my clients, employers and partners.
What kind of designer am I?
The ‘why’ is important to me. I like to collaborate on developing concepts or refining an existing concept. But my greatest satisfaction is shipping a tangible end result. I’m not just an idea generator or an execution-only designer. It’s the fusion of both that I love.
Furthermore:
︎I embrace big challenges
︎I believe designing for circularity is essential
︎I love to translating brand values into user experience
︎I love establishing future visions to inform future product development
What I bring:
︎20+ years of award-winning (bike) design expertise
︎5+ years of experience in circular design
︎Entrepreneurial experience: I’ve built my own company and sold my designs worldwide
︎A commitment to excellence, influenced by a background in competitive sports
As an industrial designer one of my main skills is to integrate: working with skills, people, technologies, human needs and bring them together in a design. Most things I do and make is related to bicycles, because I love bicycles and cycling, and believe it's good for people to ride a bike.
Next to my love for bikes, I feel a huge drive to use my work to change the way we consume and let us get more in balance with ourselves and earth. Ideally, I'd like to combine these two aspects in my work.
In my projects so far, I have fulfilled a couple of different roles: creating (future) visions, developing concepts, bringing products to mass production through design engineering. My strength lies in making the connection between the soft part of design, and bringing it to life without losing the vision. This is why I often work best when I engage in a project from A to Z. I love inventing smart solutions, and know the details matter to bring our vision to life.
As a former professional athlete and cycling team manager, I like to be part of wildly passionate and ambitious teams. I expect a lot from myself and the people I work with. I love collaborating with team members, suppliers, investors and always try to get to a win-win from the connection.
